Today, more and more companies are claiming to act sustainably. But how do you actually know who is really doing this?
At Salus, we regularly have it checked by external audits and prove that we practice sustainability - in recent decades, today and in the future: we have been working with the world's most demanding "sustainability management system" EMAS* for over 25 years (Salus since 1996, Schoenenberger since 1997). In 2020, we were the first company for natural medicine and health products to extend it to EMASplus in the area of social responsibility.
What sounds complicated and technical is actually quite simple: we continuously review where we can improve and become even more sustainable. Our results and targets are audited and certified by an independent organisation. The Federal Ministry for the Environment also promotes EMASplus. In future, it is to become a state guarantee label for sustainable management. For more than a quarter of a century, we have been working systematically and continuously on all areas of sustainability - from climate protection to packaging, from the supply chain to our employees - in order to improve ourselves. With success. We publish the results of our work every three years in a sustainability report that transparently communicates our activities, our environmental footprint and our sustainability goals.

* The EMAS eco-management system is structured in accordance with the requirements of EC Regulation No. 1221/2009 (EMAS III, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 and is regularly checked by an independent, government-approved environmental auditor.
