The Story of Floradix
90 years of Floradix – a true success story that began in 1935 and has continued to evolve ever since.
At the end of 1962, Otto Greither acquired the Floradix pharmaceutical factory in Wiesbaden from the company Wilhelm Blumenthal. At the time, no one could have foreseen that Floradix would one day become Salus’ best-selling product.
“One hundred millilitres of the tonic contained only two to three milligrams of ferrous iron,” recalled Professor Dr. Heinz Schilcher, who joined Salus in 1962 from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich to head the scientific department. Over the decades, the formula has been continuously refined. Today, Floradix contains a significantly higher amount of iron to optimally support daily nutritional needs.
Floradix has also set new standards in manufacturing technology. The introduction of short-time high-temperature processing, a technique also used in milk preservation, marked a turning point in Salus’ production methods.
Floradix has been a leading product for iron self-supplementation for many years. In 2025, we’ll be celebrating 90 years of Floradix – a milestone we’re proud to mark!
