We impact

Our sustainability management system

Today, more and more companies are claiming to act sustainably. But how do you actually know who is really doing this?

At Salus, we regularly have it checked by external audits, proving that we practice sustainability - in recent decades, today and in the future: we have been working with the demanding European "sustainability management system" EMAS* for over 25 years (Salus since 1996, and Schoenenberger since 1997). In 2020, we were the first company for natural medicine and health products to expand it to include the area of social responsibility. Since 2024, we have also been the first company in Germany to be certified according to We impact. In addition to environmental protection and social impacts, forthcoming legal frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) are also taken into account.

What sounds complicated and technical is actually quite simple: we continuously review where we can improve and become even more sustainable. Our results and targets are audited and certified by an independent organisation. For more than a quarter of a century, we have been working systematically and continuously on all areas of sustainability - from climate protection to packaging, from the supply chain to our employees - in order to improve ourselves. With success.

We publish the results of our work every three years in a sustainability report that transparently communicates our activities, our environmental footprint and our sustainability goals.

* The EMAS eco-management system is structured in accordance with the requirements of EC Regulation No. 1221/2009 (EMAS III, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 and is regularly checked by an independent, government-approved environmental auditor.
