Floradix^®, Folic acid capsules

The vitamin folic acid is part of the B-vitamins group. Especially green vegetables, wheat germ and liver contain folic acid. It is strongly water-soluble and also sensitive to heat and UV light. Therefore the vitamin easily gets lost during normal cooking. The sufficient supply of folic acid is particulary important for women of childbearing-age. The German nutrition association (DGE) recommends women planning for a child to take 400 μg folate daily. Folic acid is important for the body for normal cell divsion. Folate contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy.
